The Vail Film Festival is a great opportunity to have a great weekend.
- Edward R. Pressman, producer, 2005 VFF Lifetime Achievement recipient
People can ski during the day and see films at night. It's a great combination. They show movies that challenge people and are a little bit different, it's great.
— Giancarlo Esposito, actor: Taps, Malcolm X, The Usual Suspects, Derailed
The fest was fab-u-lous. We couldn't have asked for anything more (other than more time to meet more people and see more films). We were able to ride a beautiful mountain, see fantastic films, listen to great music, attend fun parties and meet talented people all in one place. Chris and I were absolutely honored to be part of such a well-put-together event that was filled with an uplifting, positive and motivational spirit. Our team met talented filmmakers we will not only be friends with, but most likely work with, for years to come.
— Angie Howard, producer: The Journey
I had the most positive experience at the Vail Film Festival. Vail itself is a wonder and an amazing backdrop for this intimate, but vibrant and tapped-in festival. I can only think that the Vail Film Festival will grow and grow rapidly. Cheers, Vail!
— Jayce Bartok, writer/director: Stricken; actor: The Station Agent, subUrbia, Spider Man
A spectacular film festival! Vail is heaven on earth. A festival that is dedicated to the true spirit of independent film. These four days were full of networking, feasting on food and film and making sweet tracks on Vail's beautiful mountain terrain. We had a great time. I look forward to coming back. The hospitality was appreciated.
— Brian Paul, co-producer, co-director: The Journey
Thank you for being so enthusiastic about my short film, TRAFFIC WARDEN, which screened at Vail. I will definitely remember you guys - it's not hard to remember a festival team that is so friendly and enthusiastic.
— Donald Rice, director: Traffic Warden
The festival was amazing. Perfect in every way. You guys provided every filmmaker there with a motivating, educational, fun environment to share our work, and I left the festival a little bit more in love with film than I was already. Thanks.
— Justin Benson, director: Almost Romeo
We're so glad "Bodies" was a part of this year's festival. I didn't doubt that it would be a great festival. Thanks again.
— Amy Wendel, director: Bodies
It was an amazing experience. The vibe throughout was great — everywhere you turned you met somebody with passion, who was motivated enough to, first of all, MAKE their own film, and then make the effort to come support it at Vail. We're all dreamers, but some of us are DOers too, and spending time around these people leaves you even more inspired to continue to create better films... I'd like to clone myself and bring six or seven of myself in order to make the most of the time and EVEN THEN I probably wouldn't get any sleep at all. Which is nice. So, seven thumbs up from me. Already making the next film and hoping to sneak in the back door and spend more time in Vail in 2006.
